I am amazed and confused by the fact that for the 2nd time in 3 years Bob Stoops has allowed the Oklahoma SWOONERS, to come into the Red River Rivalry game, cocky, arrogant, over confident and unprepared.
He and his coaching staff must have watched that 50 to 7 beat down the horns took at the hands of TCU last week and thought they could take the week off. that is why we play the games ... so we can give cocky and arrogant coaches a chance to pass that attitude on to their teams thus setting themselves up for an embarrassing ass whipping by a team they should have dominated. You would have thought that having been upset 2 years ago they would have remembered.... but obviously not. I just hate the fact they let TU off the floor.
I am also amazed and confused by the fact that none of the geniuses in the little 12 conference have figured out that the way to beat tcu is to run the ball right at them. I have the greatest respect for coach Snyder but they blew that game through sheer stupidity. Kstate took control of that game in the 2nd quarter by controlling the line of scrimmage, running the ball, eating up the clock and keeping TCU's offense off of the field.
Then inexplicably in the second half they start throwing the ball on first down. If Kstate has an OC they need to fire him today. If Snyder was calling those plays I will write it off to a senior moment that lasted the entire 2nd half except for the one series they scored a TD on. that series they ran the ball. Then amazingly on the next series they tried to throw on first down again, incomplete... 2nd and long.
No question that Patterson is a great coach and no question that Boykin has developed into an outstanding QB but TCU is not even a top 10 team. Their run defense is terrible. They simply do not have enough talent, size or depth in their front 7.
I remain amazed and confused the coaches who make 6 and 7 figure incomes have failed to realized that to beat them you must run at them and stick to that plan the entire game.
