Echo chamber - "a situation in which information, ideas, or beliefs are amplified or reinforced by transmission and repetition inside an enclosed system, where different or competing views are censored, disallowed or otherwise underrepresented."
This is what the board has become in 2015. The deletion of my threads yesterday - which were uninflammatory and intended to start discussion on a national news story - because it was not in harmony with one mod's personal opinion is not a good precedent on a message board. What was even worse was the hateful personal attacks by other posters (and the mod) which were apparently just fine to hang around all day on the board.
I've enjoyed being a member of the board for over 13 years and had lots of laughs, but I'm heading down the road. There should be room for differing opinions whether it be sports, politics, religion, etc. Unilaterally shutting down folks you don't agree with will end up running off more members than me, and it was a bad move. I don't expect anyone to care, and I know there will be plenty of "GTFO" and "don't let the door hit ya" posts. And that's great. Share your opinion - it's a message board after all. I really hope Mark has the sack to leave this post up and let it run its course.
