Advice on getting a personal bank loan?

ive never tried to get a bank loan before but will start the process of going for a 100k loan. Any tips? What if I put up 20k+ cash as collateral, does that help? Credit is decent and income is good. Debt is low. Do I shop around or expect pretty much the same from other banks?
