COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Returning to Aggieland with trophy in hand after winning the Progressive Legends Classic, No. 16 Texas A&M is back in action inside Reed Arena on Friday when the Aggies host Pepperdine at 8 p.m.
The contest will be televised on SEC Network with Matt Stewart calling the play-by-play action and Kyle Macy providing color commentary. Additionally, radio coverage will be available on the Aggie Sports Network, which can be heard locally in the Bryan/College Station area on WTAW (1620 AM).
Texas A&M (4-0) remained unbeaten earlier this week by defeating Oklahoma State and Penn State at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., to capture the title of the Legends Classic. Friday’s game vs. Pepperdine will also be a part of the event as a regional game.
The early wins over West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Penn State, leave Texas A&M as the only team in the country to have notched three wins over high major conferences opponents (ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Pac-12, SEC) at this point in the season.
The visit to the Big Apple also marked the return of Robert Williams to the court for the Aggies. The 6-foot-10 sophomore forward who returned to Texas A&M instead of leaving early for the NBA was impressive against the Cowboys and Nittany Lions, carding a double-double in each game to garner a spot on the All-Tournament Team alongside teammate Duane Wilson.
Pepperdine, meanwhile, comes to College Station with a 2-3 record after defeating Oral Roberts 80-76 on Tuesday in Malibu, Calif.
Waves freshman Colbey Ross averaged 23.0 points the last two games and was named to the Legends Classic Malibu subregional All-Tournament team. He leads the Waves in scoring (14.8) and assists (5.2).
