37 TEXAS A&M FOOTBALL PLAYERS ON NFL TRAINING CAMP ROSTERS

COLLEGE STATION—With NFL training camps and pre-season games underway, Texas A&M University has 37 Aggies on the current NFL rosters.

This past spring, defensive end and consensus All-American Myles Garrett was the No. 1 player selected in the 2017 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns. He became the first Texas A&M football player to ever be selected No. 1 overall.

Additional 2017 NFL draft picks included defensive back Justin Evans, a second-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while defensive end Daeshon Hall was a third-round pick by the Carolina Panthers. Wide receiver Josh Reynolds went in the fourth round to the Los Angeles Rams and offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor went to the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round.

Aggies who signed free agent contracts included quarterback Trevor Knight and tight end Ricky Seals-Jones with the Arizona Cardinals, offensive lineman Avery Gennesy with the Jacksonville Jaguars and linebacker Shaan Washington with the Minnesota Vikings.

The longest-tenured Aggie on an NFL roster is punter Shane Lechler with the Houston Texans. Lechler was drafted in the 2000 NFL Draft by Oakland and will begin his 18th season in the NFL. Another special teams standout, deep snapper Don Muhlbach with the Detroit Lions will begin his 14th season in the NFL.
