After 5-7 last year, everyone who was on staff last season needs to produce better. In other veins, Petrino has to "prove he's still got it" and Gross-Armiento will be on the hook to show why his promotion was justified. The only coach, in my view, who has a little leash is Blackwell because he's new. Even with that, he still has to rack and stack three talented, but unproven tailbacks into Petrino's system.
So, who's seat is a little warm to get the job done?! I believe a couple are fairly obvious, but I did ask y'all for three choices. To me, there are some sneaky hard decisions in there. For example...we really only have one proven corner in our system, the aforementioned wide open competition at RB, a talented QB with not a lot of game experience and our ongoing search for a consistent pass rush.
Spring ball certainly won't give us an honest picture of what has to be done. There will be simply too many pieces missing. Come camp, though, different story. The sun won't be the only thing heating up those coaches' folding chairs on the sideline.
By the way, I went with Addazio, Durkin and Petrino. Gotta block better, score points/get really good QB play and stop the run. Obvious, I know....
Gig'em!
