As I've stated in other posts, I don't the hows and whys of the end of his tenure at UNC, so I'm not going to speculate. But let me leave with a few meanderings as we prepare to go our separate ways to celebrate the Greatest Day with our family and friends...
- Second Chances - There's a reason they call them that. I've had many many of my own, professionally and personally. Coach Elko believes in them, too. Enough for me.
- Questions Asked - This one really goes along with the one above. Is there anyone on here who believes Coach Elko did not ask, "Jay, what happened up there?" And secondly, would have hired him if he didn't like the answers?!
- Could Have Stayed - Bottom line, Coach could have stayed at UF for the knowns there. I'm sure he could have gotten them to pony up and parlayed that into a bigger job next year. Bigger expectations and pressure here. He chose us. That means something.
