I finally got the buck scored that I took in Kansas last fall with my muzzleloader. I had put his pics on here last year and several had guessed at his score, anywhere from mid 130's up to around 163. I took him to the Hunter's Extravaganza in Fort Worth and they measured him at 173 3/8 gross, and 155 net non-typical. The gross was 12-14 inches more than I had anticipated.
This deer had never encountered a trail camera, protein or corn feeder. Of course he was eating corn, milo, soybeans and alfalfa everyday, but that is beside the point.
The muzzleloader season will be opening up on September 14th and I have drawn another tag, so I will be heading to northwestern Kansas again in about 2 1/2 weeks. Can't wait.
Here's to good luck for everyone in the upcoming seasons.
