A/C question

looks like my A/C coil is going out. Had to get freon, last month and it's already struggling to keep the house cool when the sun is up. Might as well replace the whole thing.

I know I'll have to replace my outdoor unit, as well, due to government regulations.

I'll need a 5-ton, 14 seer system.

I've called a few different A/C guys, with most quotes ranging from $5,400-6,800. But, then one guy offered me an Ameristar system, out the door, for $4,500.

Is Ameristar that bad or is that a good deal?

Anybody on here do HVAC in McKinney? I'd love to keep my business on here when my system finally craps out.
