We all know that there’s a lot of people refusing to wear masks. Just go to almost any rural Texas town. Yes, I understand that you have been, and good for you and everyone that has. But we need to all come together now, and bring in the ones who aren’t.
I work extensively in rural Texas and I wonder where you have come into contact with "lot's of people refusing to wear masks"? Are you just generalizing based on what, your biases?
There is an anecdotal person occasionally, sure. But no more or less than I run into in Austin. I drive 40-60K miles a year all over rural central Texas and can tell you that most folks I know, and all of them that venture into public, are wearing masks.
I can't think of a single person I've seen indoors in public refusing to wear a mask in the last couple of months.
I can count on one hand the number of people not wearing a mask in a store over the past 6 months. % wise, that is a very small number.
The last couple of times I’ve driven through rural Texas, every time I stopped at a gas station, only 1/3 of people wore masks.

Was in Lakeway over the holidays and Id say 1 in 10 in Home Depot and Specs didn’t wear mask. The non maskers also make a point to yell at their phones while in the store.
We have a construction project going on in Rockport that hasn’t budged in 2 weeks because all the crews who refused to mask got sick.
