Saturday night portal update

There are still a number of players on campus or have just concluded their visits.
Mississippi State WR Mario Craver has narrowed his list to four teams and A&M is one, which makes sense considering he was there last night and today. Unclear whether he will visit anywhere else, but you would think he would.
Purdue tight end Max Klare is visiting. He would be the pass-catching tight end type and A&M could sure use one of those.
Florida DE Jack Pyburn visited yesterday and today, and is now off to LSU. It looks like it'll be between those two teams, and the Aggies may have gotten a boost today as Nebraaka's Jimari Butler picked LSU today (over A&M).
Another TE, Nebraska's Nate Boerkircher, was also in town. He was more of a blocker, but over the last three games of the season he started getting passes thrown his way and ended up with 6 catches for 102 yards. I don't think he's a priority at this point, but you never know.
A&M continues to feel very good about landing Micah Hudson. If they can get Hudson, Nic Anderson and Craver, they'd take that and run.
The Aggies will host USC WR/TE Duce Robinson next week. He had 23 catches for 396 yards and 5 TD this past season and is a former 5-star, 25th in the nation. He could be a big slot receiver or possibly an H-Back at 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds.
Ball State CB Myles Norwood has A&M in his final four. Norwood, who is 6-foot-1 and 183 pounds, had 38 tackles and broke up 8 passes this season. PFF liked his work, giving him a 70.7 coverage grade for the entire season.

College Station House Rental

Good morning Ags,
Our oldest has transferred in for the spring semester beginning her Junior year. Whoop! Trying to find a house to rent for the spring semester. We really don’t want to have to rent an entire house for just her currently. If any of y’all know of anything available, please let me know. For the fall semester, she should have time to find a roommate(s) for another house. Thanks and have a Great Day!

Texans vs. Dolphins

That hit on Grant DuBose didn't look good at all.

Hopefully he'll be okay, but it didn't look like he moved any of his extremities from the time he hit the ground to them wheeling him to the tunnel on a flat board and stretcher.

Buy college football teams.

This was a question I asked mark about. I will copy and paste part of it. I will post a link where you can watch the video of the guy talking about it. It is about half way down.

As NIL collectives continue to wield influence, some suggest that college sports may enter an entirely new commercial era. Marc Lasry, former owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, is exploring the idea of buying stakes in college football and basketball teams. His vision? Schools selling 51% of their athletic programs at valuations of up to $750M. The schools would then use the infusion of cash for NIL investments, new facilities, or facility upgrades. Such a move would turn college programs into semi-professional entities, where private ownership partners directly support athlete compensation.

ABC and Stephanopoulos forced to pay $15M to Trump

@KeithDB should be worried since he has done the same thing many times on this site....

ABC News and star anchor George Stephanopoulos have reached a settlement with Donald Trump for $15 million, after Stephanopoulos asserted that Trump was found "liable for rape" in a civil case while interviewing Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) last March.

After the network played a clip of Mace discussing being a victim of rape, Stephanopoulos asked: "How do you square your endorsement of Donald Trump with the testimony we just saw?"
"You've endorsed Donald Trump for president. Judges and two separate juries have found him liable for rape and for defaming the victim of that rape," the host continued, referring to the case brought by Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll.

During his contentious discussion with Mace, Stephanopoulos repeated the claim 10 times despite the fact that a jury only found Trump liable for "sexual abuse" - which under New York law is distinctly different from rape.
After the federal jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse, but not rape, Judge Lewis Kaplan wrote in a later ruling that just because Carroll failed to prove rape "within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape.’"
...

The settlement was publicly filed on Saturday, revealing that the two parties have come to an agreement and avoided a costly trial. According to the settlement, ABC News will pay $15 million as a charitable contribution to a "Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past." Additionally, the network will pay $1 million in Trump's attorney fees. -Fox News
After Trump sued for defamation, Stephanopoulos was a pissy little midget - telling CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert that he wouldn't be "cowed out of doing my job because of a threat," Fox notes further.
"Trump sued me because I used the word ‘rape,’ even though a judge said that’s in fact what did happen. We filed a motion to dismiss."
The settlement came after U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid recently ordered Trump and Stephanopoulos to attend an in-person deposition hearing next week ahead of the Dec. 24 deadline for the defendants to file a motion for summary judgment, in order to avoid a trial.
In his lawsuit against Stephanopoulos and ABC, Trump was represented by Florida attorneys Alejandro Brito and Richard Klugh, who also represent the president-elect in his legal case against CNN. The settlement with ABC was filed in the Southern District of Florida Federal Court where both parties signed and agreed to the terms. -Fox News
The settlement is the latest in a string of legal victories for Trump - ranging from the dismissal of his 2020 election fraud lawsuit, to his classifieds records case. Trump was also granted a request to file a motion to dismiss in his New York 'Stormy Daniels' case.
Trump is separately suing CBS News for $10 billion in damages over "deceptive conduct."

I think Ewers goes into the portal

Sark has almost no choice but to start manning next season, if not in the CFP, this season. Ewers is great, and teams will line up to take him, even if they have set starters for the next season. Sark is kind of stuck not playing manning any longer. Ewers is too good not to be on the field. He will the back up next season. Being 2nd string will drop his draft rating. He has to get to another place to play. There aren't many places where doesn't fit. If I were Dan Lanning, I would have someone reaching out to him. That would the perfect fit for Quinn.
